Mushroom Pulao

Background
I love to try different rice dishes. I have tried making mushroom rice for the first time and it turned out really delicious. It goes well with any gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Mushrooms (Chopped)
- 1 Onion sliced
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 4 Cloves
- 2 Cardamoms
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1 Bay leaf
- 10 Mint leaves chopped
- Salt as required
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 2 Cups Basmati rice
- Β½ Tbsp Oil
- 1 Green chilli
- A sprig of coriander leaves chopped
Instructions
- In a deep bottomed vessel, heat the oil and add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf.
- Add the sliced onion and fry until brown.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and the mint leaves and fry for a minute.
- Add the mushrooms and green chilli and fry for a couple of minutes.
- Add the rice, lemon juice, salt and water and cook under lid on a very slow flame until the rice is cooked.
- After the rice is cooked, let it sit for 10 minutes and fluff it up with a fork.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with gravy.
