Ingredients: 1 Cup Mushrooms (Chopped); 1 Onion sliced; 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste; 1 tsp Cumin seeds; 4 Cloves; 2 Cardamoms; 1 inch Cinnamon; 1 Bay leaf; 10 Mint leaves chopped; Salt as required; 1 tsp Lemon juice; 2 Cups Basmati rice; ½ Tbsp Oil; 1 Green chilli; A sprig of coriander leaves chopped

Background

I love to try different rice dishes. I have tried making mushroom rice for the first time and it turned out really delicious. It goes well with any gravy.

Ingredients

1 Cup Mushrooms (Chopped)
1 Onion sliced
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 tsp Cumin seeds
4 Cloves
2 Cardamoms
1 inch Cinnamon
1 Bay leaf
10 Mint leaves chopped
Salt as required
1 tsp Lemon juice
2 Cups Basmati rice
½ Tbsp Oil
1 Green chilli
A sprig of coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

In a deep bottomed vessel, heat the oil and add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf.
Add the sliced onion and fry until brown.
Add the ginger garlic paste and the mint leaves and fry for a minute.
Add the mushrooms and green chilli and fry for a couple of minutes.
Add the rice, lemon juice, salt and water and cook under lid on a very slow flame until the rice is cooked.
After the rice is cooked, let it sit for 10 minutes and fluff it up with a fork.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with gravy.
