Porridge with chestnuts and yoghurt

Background
This porridge with chestnut and yoghurt can easily be gluten-free and vegan, if appropriate oats and plant-based milk& yogurt are used. Itβs very easy to make, even on busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled porridge oats
- 2 cups plant-based milk (or normal milk)
- Β½ cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Β½ tsp ginger powder
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- Β½ cup chopped roasted or vacuum packed chestnuts
- 4 Tbsp Greek yoghurt or plant-based yogurt
- Maple syrup
Instructions
- Put the porridge oats into a pan and add the cinnamon and ginger. Mix well, then add the milk of your choice and the water. If time allows, rest for about 10 minutes.
- Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. It should be creamy β so add a little more milk, if needed.
- Turn off the cooker, cover with a lid and rest for a few minutes.
- Spoon the porridge into two bowls, add the yogurt and maple syrup, then scatter the chopped chestnuts on top.
- Serve warm.
