Prawns in coconut sauce

Background
Prawns in coconut sauceΒ will definitely be a hit at any party. It has a very rich creamy gravy which goes well with roti or steamed rice. It is an all time favourite with my family.
Ingredients
- 500g Raw prawns (Deviened and cleaned)
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Onion (Finely chopped)
- 1 Tomato (Roughly chopped)
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 Dry red chillies
- 1 Cup Coconut milk
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- Salt as required
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- 1 tsp Turmeric
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a deep bottomed vessel, add mustard seeds and red chillies and let them splutter.
- Add the onion and fry until brown.
- Add the turmeric, tomato, coriander powder, cumin powder and the red chilli powder. Fry until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the coconut milk and prawns and cook both of them together on slow flame until the oil oozes out.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
