Ingredients: 500g Raw prawns (Deviened and cleaned); 1 Tbsp Oil; 1 Onion (Finely chopped); 1 Tomato (Roughly chopped); 1 tsp Mustard seeds; 2 Dry red chillies; 1 Cup Coconut milk; 2 tsp Coriander powder; 1 tsp Cumin powder; 1 tsp Chilli powder; Salt as required; Coriander leaves for garnishing; 1 tsp Turmeric

Background

Prawns in coconut sauce will definitely be a hit at any party. It has a very rich creamy gravy which goes well with roti or steamed rice. It is an all time favourite with my family.

Ingredients

500g Raw prawns (Deviened and cleaned)
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Onion (Finely chopped)
1 Tomato (Roughly chopped)
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 Dry red chillies
1 Cup Coconut milk
2 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Cumin powder
1 tsp Chilli powder
Salt as required
Coriander leaves for garnishing
1 tsp Turmeric

Instructions

Heat the oil in a deep bottomed vessel, add mustard seeds and red chillies and let them splutter.
Add the onion and fry until brown.
Add the turmeric, tomato, coriander powder, cumin powder and the red chilli powder. Fry until the tomatoes are soft.
Add the coconut milk and prawns and cook both of them together on slow flame until the oil oozes out.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
