Background
These Prosciutto wrapped mozzarella wraps are excellent nibbles or appetizers at parties. You can create lots of them in just a few minutes and you can be made ahead of the event. Alternatively, Β they are the perfect instant snack when friends pop in for a drink. They go particularly well with Prosecco.
Ingredients
- 200g Parma ham (or other prosciutto )
- 50g rocket salad
- 150g mozzarella
- about 250g sun dried tomatoes in oil
- Balsamic syrup (see tips below)
Instructions
- Drain the mozzarella and tear it into chunks.
- Place a piece of the ham flat on a chopping board. Scatter some rocket leaves in the centre, then place one piece of sun dried tomato on top, followed by a mozzarella chunk. Drizzle a little syrup over it. Roll up the ham.
- Repeat this process with the rest of the ham pieces.
- Arrange the wraps on a serving plate, drizzle some syrup over them.
Tips
You can buy balsamic syrup but I make it by boiling half a cup of balsamic vinegar with 1 tablespoon of muscovado sugar and reducing it to a thick syrup.Categories
