Background
This red onion and radish chutney goes extremely well with strong cheeses such Roquefort or Stilton. Also, it can be served as a condiment with cold meat or Β grilled steak. You can use it as a Β sandwich/pita/burger filling too or as a topping on fritters and nibbles. So it's versatile and incredibly easy to make!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 small red onion
- 100g radish
- 1 Tbsp clear honey
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 cloves of garlic
Instructions
- Finely slice the onion and garlic. Chop the radish into small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and gently soften the onion for a few minutes. Add the garlic and the radish, cook under a lid for a couple of minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients, cover with the lid and cook for 8-10 minutes until the vegetables are tender and sticky.
- Serve it warm with grilled lamb/beef steak - or let it cool and serve with cheese/cold meats.
