Background
These savoury rice balls are very healthy and delicious too. They are especially made for the festive occasion of Lord Ganesha in India. They are very easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice rawa (Readily available) or (soak rice overnight. Drain and dry it on a towel and grind to a coarse powder)
- 2 cups Water
- 1 Tbsp Bengal gram dal, soaked for 10 minutes and drained
- Salt as required
- ½ cup Grated coconut
Instructions
- Pressure cook dal with ½ cup water according to the specification of your pressure cooker. Set it aside with the water left out after pressure cooing it.
- Boil 1½ cups water and add salt, the boiled dal with water, grated coconut and the rice rawa and cook until no lumps are formed.
- Let this mixture cool down and make balls.
