Soft Brown Loaf
Background
This is a very simple recipe for making a soft brown loaf of bread using a breadmaker. My daughter dislikes crusty bread so I usually have to cut the crusts off when I make her sandwiches - this loaf is soft enough for her to be happy with them left on. I use a the 5 hour "Sandwich" setting of my Panasonic breadmaker - check for a similar setting in your machine instructions if you have a different make.
Ingredients
- ½ tsp Yeast
- 400g Strong Brown Flour
- 1 tsp soft brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 290 ml water
Instructions
- Add the ingredients into the breadmaker pan in the order above (or as per manufacturers instructions)
- Select the appropriate setting and start.
- When the programme completes, remove the the pan from the machine (use oven gloves!) and tip out the loaf onto a wire-rack to cool.
