Spiced squid with bacon

Background
If you want a quick and easy dish for lunch or as a starter in a dinner menu, this recipe will tick the boxes! Serve it with bread or with green leafy salad.
Ingredients
- 4 cleaned medium squid
- 4 slices of streaky bacon, smoked
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- 2 pinches of dried chilli pepper flakes
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the squid. Halve large tentacles lengthwise ,then cut the bodies crosswise into 1cm thick rings.
- Dice the bacon then fry it over medium heat until golden and crispy. Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to drain.
- Season the squid with salt and pepper then fry them in the bacon fat together with the spring onion and the chilli flakes for about 3-5 minutes.
- Serve it immediately, sprinkled with bacon and parsley. Drizzle some lemon juice over it.
