Super Healthy Vegetable juice
Background
I make this Super Healthy Vegetable juice almost every evening, about 30 minutes before supper, as part of my Wholeness diet. It’s an essential part of both the Spring Clean Diet and my seasonal Detox when I add even more alkaline-forming, nutrition-veggies. This is the basic recipe, but do feel free to add other things such as: asparagus, cabbage, ginger, garlic, alfalfa, kale, bell pepper, cucumber etc ( I do too). BUT - if you’re into Food combining, you must not add any fruits!
Ingredients
- 2 large carrots
- 1 celery stick
- 2 lettuce leaves ( little gem or Romano)
- ½ beetroot (peeled)
- 1 piece of broccoli stalk (about 1 inch)
- 1 handful baby spinach
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh parsley and/or coriander
Instructions
- Rinse and trim the ends off the veggies, if needed.
- Put all the veggies in a Juicer, adding the herbs last, and process.
- Put through about the same amount of filtered water, when the juicer is still on in order to wash out even more juice.
- Drink immediately.
Tips
- It’s important to drink this juice immediately as the enzymes start breaking down and oxidise. Also, if not drunk within 5 minutes, bacteria start growing and can turn a super healthy drink into a harmful one!
- You need to use a proper Juicer for this recipe - not a smoothie maker nor a Nutribullet.
