Background

Pork & prawn balls are very popular in South-East Asia, served in broth or with stir-fried vegetables. This simple, non-spicy version is best served with a dip, so it's perfect for parties or as an appetizer, or just as a snack for your lunch-box or a picnic.

Ingredients

100g raw large prawns (peeled)
100g minced meat (pork)
1 egg white
1 garlic, minced
1 tsp chopped coriander
1 Tbsp grated ginger
3 drops of sesame oil
Oil , salt and pepper
For Serving: coriander, chives

Instructions

In a food processor, blend the egg white, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and coriander.
Add the minced pork, then season with salt and pepper. Form small (2-3cm ) balls and cook them in plenty of hot oil in a wok or deep pan until golden.
Drain them on paper towels.
Serve warm or at room temperature with chopped herbs scattered on top.

Tips

If you'd like it spicy, add some chopped chilli to the mixture.
