Baked Belly Pork Slices
Background
People are often put off pork belly because they're afraid it will be greasy & slimy - unfortunately, if its cooked wrong, it can be! However, when cooked right, it's absolutely delicious. These simple to cook Baked Belly Pork Slices are a perfect example - if you like spare-ribs you'll just love this recipe! It can be a lovely starter for a dinner party or the main course for a family lunch or supper.
Ingredients
- 500g pork belly slices
- Sauce:1 Tbsp Worcester sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves
- Β½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 3 Tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp barbeque sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 210Β°C.
- Whizz the sauce ingredients together in a blender. If you don't have a blender then crush &/or slice the garlic very finely and thoroughly mix everything together in a bowl.
- Place the pork slices into a roasting tin, pour over the sauce then turn them over to cover them all over.
- Pop the tin into the hot oven for 45-50 minutes, turning every 10 minutes or so, until they are well browned.
- Serve with roast or mashed sweet (or normal) potatoes and green vegetables of your choice.
