Dijon and peppercorn grilled beef steak

Background
This Dijon and peppercorn grilled beef steak is super easy recipe but it’s essential to make it with good quality, matured beef so you don’t need to marinate it for long. You can add some garlic powder or minced garlic to the mustard glaze. Serve with salad and chips. Alternatively, slice it into thin ribbons and add to salads or sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 1 large, thick matured beef steak ( rump or sirloin)
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. freshly ground rainbow peppercorns
Instructions
- Mix the mustard an olive oil.
- Wipe the steak with paper kitchen towel (the meat should be at room temperature).
- Heat a griddle pan or BBQ.
- Rub the steak on each side with the mustard then scatter the crushed peppercorn all over it.
- Sear the steak on each side for 30 seconds – then keep turning every minute until it’s cooked to your liking.
- Rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly or thickly, according to your liking.
