Miso fried tofu

Background
I make these Miso fried tofu bites regularly because they are easy, healthy, yummy and very versatile β they can be kept in the fridge until I need them. You can eat them as snacks during the day or serve them as nibbles with a glass of wine; alternatively add them to salads,Β stews & soups.
Ingredients
- 200g firm tofu
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp miso paste
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- Couple of pinches of palm sugar (or cane sugar)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- ΒΌ tsp turmeric or ginger powder
Instructions
- Mix the soy, miso, sesame oil, vinegar and sugar into a smooth paste. Add the turmeric and sesame seeds.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes then pour over the marinade. Marinate for minimum 30 minutes.
- Heat some ground nut oil in a wok or frying pan. Fry the tofu cube for a couple of minutes on each side, until golden.
- Serve with soy sauce or chilli sauce.
