Mysore Bonda (Plain flour bajjias)

Background
Mysore bonda is a snack which goes well with an evening tea. It can be easily made instantly. Since they are deep fried, they can be eaten occasionally, maybe for a get-together!
Ingredients
- 1½ Cups Plain flour
- ½ Cup Rice flour
- ¾ Plain yogurt
- ¾ Cup Water (Or as required)
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- Salt as required
- 1 Tbsp Ginger chopped
- 1 Green chilli chopped
- 2 Tbsp of coriander leaves chopped
- 2 tsp Cumin seeds
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Mix all the dry ingredients together.
- Add the ginger, green chilli and yogurt to it.
- Add water little by little to make a thick batter without lumps. Let this batter sit aside for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil for deep frying on medium flame.
- Spoon some batter and put it in the oil like dumplings (5-6 at a time).
- Let the dumplings fry in medium low flame for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Place them on a kitchen towel to absorb the excess oil and serve hot with coconut chutney.
