Background
I tried prawn fritters in a restaurant and loved them, soย thought of recreating the recipe with the help of my memory and palate. I experimented this recipe by guessing the ingredients. It turned out to be very tasty, although it should be eaten hot and immediately it's cooked.
Ingredients
- 300g Prawns (Fresh and de-veined)
- ¾ cup Self raising flour
- Salt as required
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- Oil for deep frying
- ½ Tbsp Rice flour
- 1 Onion (Sliced thinly)
- 1 Green chilli
- 4 Cloves of garlic (Chopped)
- 1" Ginger piece (Chopped)
- 1 tsp Oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the rice flour,self raising flour, salt and chilli powder.
- Add a drop of water to the above ingredients and make it to a consistency of a batter which is neither too loose nor too thick.
- Heat the oil on a medium flame.
- Coat the prawns with the batter and deep fry in the oil until brown and put them aside.
- In another pan, heat 1 tsp oil add the green chilli, ginger and garlic then fry for a minute.
- Add the sliced onions and fry until translucent. Add the deep fried prawns and toss.
- Serve hot.
