Background
This spiced version of ever popular coleslaw goes really well with barbecued fish and chicken, particularly with middle-eastern flavoured ones. It also makes an excellent filling in burgers, sandwiches and kebabs.
Ingredients
- Half a white cabbage
- 1 large onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4-5 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Thinly slice or shred the cabbage. Coarsely grate the carrots. Cut the onion in half and slice thinly .
- In a large bowl toss the vegetables with the mayonnaise, lemon juice and cumin seeds.
- Season to taste. Chill until served.
