Steak with basil sauce
Background
This beef steak with basil sauce is a great recipe! The steak only takes a few minutes to cook, the sauce is ready quickly and can be prepared in advance for dinner parties. The sauce is made the same way as the Argentinean chimichurri sauce, but using basil instead of parsley.
Ingredients
- 30g fresh basil leaves
- 3 cloves garlic
- ½ cup olive oil
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 red chilli, desseded
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 sirloin steaks
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a mini food processor and put aside.
- Heat a griddle pan or a BBQ.
- Brush the steak with some olive oil. Season with salt and cook on both sides to your liking.
- Serve with the basil sauce drizzled over it.
Tips
The leftover sauce can be used for other dishes. Pour it over grilled chicken and fish or boiled potatoes!Categories
