Background
Figs and blue cheese are old friends so it’s no wonder this stilton baked figs is a delicious, little treat! Ideal for a savoury pudding, or as a starter - or serve it with pancakes/waffles for breakfast. It goes well with game and turkey/goose during the festive season.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe figs
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 50g stilton
- 4 walnut halves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly oil a baking dish.
- Trim the figs then cut a cross in each about halfway through the fruit.
- Put them in a baking dish then push a piece of walnut into the each cut. Drizzle each with balsamic vinegar and honey, then put a chunk of stilton into each cut. Drizzle again with some honey and balsamic.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes until the cheese starts melting and the figs have softened (they should not become too soft.
- Serve warm with extra honey.
