Sunflower and Honey Loaf
Background
I used always to make this sunflower and honey loaf by hand and enjoyed doing it but now I've come round to using a bread machine because it saves time and energy (you don't have to turn on the oven). The result is delicious and the timer means you can leave it to cook during the night. You can wake to the lovely smell of fresh bread which is ready, warm & perfect for breakfast! I use almond milk which gives the loaf a richer flavour & texture and also because it makes the bread dairy-free.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp Yeast
- 500g Strong Wholemeal flour (preferably Canadian)
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1½ Tbsp Sunflower oil
- 1¼ tsp Salt
- 340 ml Almond milk (or water)
- Auto Dispenser: 4 Tbsp Sunflower seeds
Instructions
- Add the ingredients to the bread machine bowl in the order above.
- Set your machine to the Large wholemeal loaf setting (normally 5 hours).
- Delay to the time you want to eat it and press start.
Tips
- For a lighter loaf, half the flour can be strong white flour.
- You can try other seeds too - linseeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.
