I love carrot cakes so I’d like to share my yummy recipe with you. It’s very easy to make!
To make the cake:
- Turn on the oven to 190Β°C.
- Grate 3 medium size carrots using a cheese grater. If it’s too difficult ask an adult to help.
- Mix 2 eggs with 50 grams of soft brown sugar,Β then add 5 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Mix in 100 grams of self-raising flour and half teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
- Add the grated carrots and a handful of raisins if you like. (I don’t like raisins so I left them out).
- Mix well using a wooden spoon but only one way, that is clockwise.
- Line a square baking tray with baking paper and pour in the mixture. Spread out evenly using the wooden spoon.
- Ask and adult to put the baking tray into the hot oven. Bake the cake for 15-20 minutes until it’s golden brown.
- Leave it it in the tray for five minutes to cool, then turn it out onto a wire rack.
- When it’s completely cooled, slice the cake up.
- Enjoy!
Tips
- You can use any other dried fruits such as cranberries, apricots, cherries and so on.
- You can use white or wholemeal flour.
- Keep the slices in a cake tin to stay soft!
- I used half the sugar of the original recipe, I think it’s sweet enough. You can also use honey instead of sugar.
