Bacon wrapped Brussels sprouts
Background
During the winter festivities most of us need to make party nibbles at some point, so it’s useful to know a few super easy yet yummy recipes. These bacon wrapped Brussels sprouts really don’t require much culinary expertise and they are very tasty (also a perfect way to use up leftovers after Xmas).
Ingredients
- 12 strips streaky bacon
- 24 brussels sprouts
- Maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
- Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and remove the outer leaves.
- Cut the bacon slices in half, place them onto a chopping board, then lightly brush each with maple syrup. Put one Brussels sprout on one end of each bacon slice, season with black pepper, then roll them up, wrapping them evenly.
- Place them on the baking sheet and brush the outside of the bacon with a little maple syrup.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crispy and golden.
- Remove them from the baking tray to plate lined with paper towels to remove excess fat.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
