Background

These yummy baked sweet and sour chicken drumsticks and thighs are ideal for parties or laid-back family suppers. They're lovely cold too, so you can take them to trips & picnics, pack into work/school lunches or serve them at parties. Kids seem to love them too, so this dish is ideal for kids’ parties - and they’re both gluten-free and dairy-free!.

Ingredients

8 mixed chicken drumsticks and thighs
2 Tbsp ketchup
1 tbps honey
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder or 1 large garlic minced
½ tsp ground ginger
1 tsp BBQ glaze (optional)
Couple of pinches of cayenne (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl then coat well the chicken with this glaze.
If you have time, marinate for a couple of hours.
Heat the oven to 180°C.
Put the chicken pieces on a baking tray and bake for 35-40 minutes, turning them a couple of times.
When the chicken is golden and cooked through, remove from the oven and serve.
