Brussels sprouts with shiitake

Background
Many, many people hate brussels sprouts and only eat them at Christmas time. No wonder, given that most people serve them boiled with maybe some butter on top. Actually, the brussels sprout is a lovely, earthy vegetable that can be combined with many other veggies, fruits or meats as they easily take on flavours and spices. For example, these brussels sprouts with shiitake have and Asian twist - they go well with roasted poultry or pork.
