Chocolate Banana Oat Muffins

If you’re looking for a healthy, delicious and guilt-free breakfast or snack, these Chocolate Banana Oat Muffins are a perfect choice! They’re vegan, sugar-free, oil-free and gluten-free (if you use certified gluten-free oats), making them suitable for almost any diet. Packed with ripe bananas, wholesome oats, dark chocolate and crunchy nuts, these muffins are naturally sweet, full of fibre, and incredibly satisfying. Plus, they’re quick and easy to make, whether you’re using an oven or an air fryer. Perfect for busy mornings or as a nutritious treat during the day!
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup rolled oats (use gluten-free if needed)
- ½ cup chopped dark chocolate
- ½ cup chopped nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, or your choice)
- 1 Tbsp dried strawberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) or prepare your air fryer for baking.
- Mash the bananas in a bowl using a fork until smooth.
- Add cocoa powder, baking powder and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the rolled oats, then stir in the chopped dark chocolate and nuts.
- If using, mix in dried strawberries.
- Spoon the mixture into silicone or paper muffin cases, filling each about ¾ full.
- Bake in the Air fryer for 15–20 minutes on the bake setting.
- Or bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Let the muffins cool in their cases for a few minutes, then transfer them to a plate to cool completely.
