Ingredients: 1 block firm tofu; 2 Tbsp olive oil; 1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup; 1 tsp ground coriander; ½ tsp garlic powder; 1 tsp smoked paprika; 1 tsp sea salt; 1 tsp ground cumin; ½ tsp cinnamon

Background

This crispy spiced tofu is an excellent party nibble with a glass or two - or you can add it to stews, salads and soups. It’s very easy to make and ideal for parties, picnics and lunch-boxes too.

Ingredients

1 block firm tofu
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp ground coriander
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Drain the tofu and wipe clean then cut it into 2cm cubes.
Mix the ingredients in a bowl, then add the tofu cubes and coat them well. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Heat a frying pan until piping hot. Add the tofu cubes and fry them on each side for a couple of minutes until crispy brown.
Drain them on a plate, lined with paper kitchen towel.
Serve some soy sauce drizzled over them.
