Background
Mung dal curry is a very healthy and tasty recipe. I personally would eat this curry everyday! Mung dal brightens the skin and is very good for dry skin. This curry goes well with roti or steamed rice.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Mung dal
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 1 Green chilli
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 Tomatoes (Chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Lemon juice
- Salt as required
- ½ Tbsp Oil
- 2½ cups of water
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the onion, turmeric and green chilli and sauté for a minute.
- Add tomatoes, mung dal, salt and water and mix.
- Pressure cook the dal until 8-9 whistles (depends on one's pressure cooker) on medium flame.
- Remove from flame and add lemon juice and serve hot.
