Background
This is a tasty variation on the Olive Loaf recipe I did a while ago. The malted granary flour adds a nice nutty texture and malty flavour. The green olives add a bit of colour and piquancy, whilst the the garlic powder gives, well, a garlic flavour!
Ingredients
- ¾ tsp Yeast
- 100g Strong Wholemeal Flour
- 100g Strong White Flour
- 200g Strong Malted Grain Bread Flour
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 3 Tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tbsp Oregano, dried
- 270 mL Water
- 50g Whole Black Olives, pitted
- 50g Whole Green Olives, pitted
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients, except the olives, to the bowl of the bread machine.
- Select the programme appropriate to your machine for medium whole wheat raisin - about 5 hours. Use the delay timer if you want it for breakfast.
- Add the olives to the automatic dispenser. If your machine doesn't have one, add them when the add ingredients beeper sounds - normally about 75 minutes into the cycle.
