Peanut chikki
Background
Peanut chikki is a traditional sweet preparation across India and is usually made by blending jaggery and peanuts together. Peanut chikki is a nutritious and easy to prepare dish, it is also a favorite among children.
Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted peanut halves
- 1 cup chopped jaggery
- 3 tsp ghee
Instructions
- Heat a pan on high flame and add the jaggery, mix well. Cook on a high flame for 3 minutes.
- Lower the flame and stir continuously, till it foams and changes color.
- Switch off the flame and add the roasted peanuts and ghee, mix well.
- Put the mixture on a greased flat surface and pat the mixture with greased hands.
- Make sure it does not stick to the surface.
- Cut immediately using a sharp knife into equal squares. Cool completely.
- Break into pieces and store it in an airtight container in a cool and dry place.
