Background
Raw banana is high in protein and many other nutrients. This raw banana curry is simple to prepare and goes well with rice and ghee.
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw banana
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 3 green chillies (slit and cut)
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp split black gram
- ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
- 1½ Tbsp oil
- ¼ cup of water
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash and peel the skin of raw banana. Cut it into small cubes. Set aside.
- Take a pan and add the oil.
- To the oil add the mustard seeds and black gram. Fry until the mustard seeds splutter.
- Add chopped onions and green chillies. Fry until golden brown.
- Add the raw banana, curry leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Mix well.
- Add ¼ cup of water. Cover the pan with lid and cook until done and water has evporated.
- Serve hot with rice, ghee and papad.
