Ingredients: 1 cup raw banana; 1 cup chopped onions; 3 green chillies (slit and cut); 1 sprig curry leaves; ½ tsp mustard seeds; ½ tsp split black gram; ¼ tsp of turmeric powder; 1½ Tbsp oil; ¼ cup of water; 1 tsp red chilli powder; salt to taste

Background

Raw banana is high in protein and many other nutrients. This raw banana curry is simple to prepare and goes well with rice and ghee.

Ingredients

1 cup raw banana
1 cup chopped onions
3 green chillies (slit and cut)
1 sprig curry leaves
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp split black gram
¼ tsp of turmeric powder
1½ Tbsp oil
¼ cup of water
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste

Instructions

Wash and peel the skin of raw banana. Cut it into small cubes. Set aside.
Take a pan and add the oil.
To the oil add the mustard seeds and black gram. Fry until the mustard seeds splutter.
Add chopped onions and green chillies. Fry until golden brown.
Add the raw banana, curry leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Mix well.
Add ¼ cup of water. Cover the pan with lid and cook until done and water has evporated.
Serve hot with rice, ghee and papad.
