Chicken do pyaza

Background
Chicken do pyaza is a very famous chicken dish in India. It is a great favourite in Indian restaurants and is a must try. It is actually easy to make and very delicious. It goes very well with steamed rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 500g Chicken
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 Onions (Sliced)
- ¼ tsp Turmeric
- ½ tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 4 Dry red chillies
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- ½ Bunch coriander leaves (Chopped)
- 1 tsp Lime juice
- Salt as required
- 2 Tbsp Yogurt
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 3 Green chillies
- ½ tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Cumin powder
- ½ Onion (chopped medium sized for seasoning)
- 1 tsp Oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel and add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the onions and fry them until brown and add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the rawness is gone.
- Mix together yogurt, chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and add this mixture with little water to the fried onions.
- Add the chicken and green chillies and mix well and cook under lid until the chicken is tender and cooked.
- In another pan, heat 1 tsp oil and add ½ chopped onion and red chillies and fry for a couple of minutes and pour this seasoning over the chicken.
- In the end, add garam masala, coriander and lime juice and mix and switch off the flame.
