Background
Custard kheer is an Indian milk pudding made with vermicelli. It is a variation to the normal custard or kheer. This dessert can served in parties or get togethers. It should be served chilled.
Ingredients
- 500 ml Whole milk
- 1 cup Vermicelli
- 1 Tbsp Custard powder
- 1 cup Sugar
- ¼ cup Almonds, pistachios, cahewnuts and any other nuts
- 1 Tbsp butter
Instructions
- Reduce the milk to half its volume and simmer.
- Meanwhile, in a separate pan, add the butter and fry the vermicelli until it is light brown in colour and taking care not to burn it.
- Add the sugar, vermicelli and custard powder and boil until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from the flame and let it cool.
- After it cools down, put it in the fridge and chill it.
- Garnish with the nuts just before serving.
