Background

Custard kheer is an Indian milk pudding made with vermicelli. It is a variation to the normal custard or kheer. This dessert can served in parties or get togethers. It should be served chilled.

Ingredients

500 ml Whole milk
1 cup Vermicelli
1 Tbsp Custard powder
1 cup Sugar
¼ cup Almonds, pistachios, cahewnuts and any other nuts
1 Tbsp butter

Instructions

Reduce the milk to half its volume and simmer.
Meanwhile, in a separate pan, add the butter and fry the vermicelli until it is light brown in colour and taking care not to burn it.
Add the sugar, vermicelli and custard powder and boil until the mixture thickens.
Remove from the flame and let it cool.
After it cools down, put it in the fridge and chill it.
Garnish with the nuts just before serving.
