Gluten and Dairy Free Bread
Background
Gluten-free bread is now becoming much more available in shops than it used to be - even in supermarkets. This vegan, Gluten and Dairy Free Bread recipe is really very quick and easy. I think it creates a loaf which is tastier than those that you can buy and you have the satisfaction of both making it yourself and saving money!
Ingredients
- 500g of white gluten-free flour
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons xanthan gum
- 1 teaspoon dried quick yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 500 ml lukewarm water
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, xanthan gum, yeast and salt together in a bowl.
- Pour in the water and blend mixture well.
- Gradually fold in the oil.
- Transfer to a lined or oiled bread tin.
- Smooth the top and let rise to about double its size in a warm place - about 60 minutes.
- Having preheated the oven to 200C degrees, bake for 50 to 55 minutes until golden brown.
Tips
Try experimenting by adding sunflower or chia seeds - or raisins, nuts and chopped dried fruits.Categories
