Background
There are so many different varieties of chicken curry from different parts of India. This recipe is from the state of Kerala also known as Gods own country for its natural beauty. Most of the Kerala recipes are very tasty as they are made with fresh ingredients and spices.
Ingredients
- 600g Chicken pieces
- 3 Onions sliced
- 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 Green chillies
- 1 Cup of coconut milk (Thick)
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- Salt as required
- A sprig of coriander leaves for garnishing
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel on medium flame and add the sliced onions and fry until brown.
- Add the green chillies and ginger garlic paste and fry until the rawness is gone.
- Add the tomatoes and all the dry powders and fry until the tomatoes become soft.
- Add the chicken and coconut milk and cook until the chicken is tender.
- Switch off the flame when the oil starts to ooze out.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
