Prawns in coconut gravy

Background
This one is my grandmother`s recipe which I learnt from my mom. This dish is very simple to make and so delicious.
Ingredients
- 500 gm prawns
- 1 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste
- Β½ tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- 4 Tbsp. oil
- 2 large onions chopped
- 4 green chillies chopped
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1 Tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
Instructions
- Clean and wash prawns well, marinate with turmeric, red chilli powder, salt. Keep aside.
- Grind coconut into smooth paste by adding half a cup of water and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions and green chillies. Fry until the onion turns brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sautΓ© for 2 minutes.
- Add marinated prawns and cook till the water evaporates.
- Now add coconut paste and cook till you get gravy consistency.
- Add salt as per taste.
- Add garam masala and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
