Snake gourd in yogurt gravy

Background
Snake gourd is one of those vegetables which is native to India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and other neighboring countries. It has many health benefits like digestion, detox, diabetes control, hair health, etc. I like it cooked in a yogurt gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 Snake gourd, chopped and boiled
- 1 cup Butter milk
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1 Dry red chilli
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- Salt as required
- 1 tsp Oil
Instructions
- In a deep bottomed vessel, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilli and asafoetida and let them splutter.
- Add the boiled snake gourd and add it to the above seasoning.
- Reduce the flame to low and add the buttermilk, turmeric and salt and mix.
- Don't let the buttermilk boil and remove from flame just before it boils.
